Rad holds a joint postdoctoral position with DISC and the Civil Engineering Department, where he specializes in machine learning applications for offshore wind turbines and satellite imagery refinement. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Victoria in Canada and his M.Sc. from the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, followed by a six-year term at Siemens Gamesa Renewables as an offshore load engineer before returning to academia. Passionate about a healthy, active lifestyle, Rad participates in various sports, including CrossFit, running, and cycling, and finds relaxation in outdoor activities, music, and travel. A self-professed specialty coffee and baking enthusiast, he enjoys indulging in these interests during his downtime.
