DISC Single-cell `Omics Workshop: Introduction to Single-cell RNA-seq Bioinformatics Part I
Date: 10/26 2-4 pm
Location: Boston Medical Campus or via zoom
The Data Intensive Studies Center is hosting a three part event featuring a seminar and workshop focused on Single-cell `Omics. This is the first part of a two-part hybrid workshop in which we will introduce single-cell RNA sequencing. We will cover common computational algorithms for quality control and clustering as well as give participants hands on experience in analyzing single-cell RNA sequencing data with open source bioinformatics tools.
Workshop Format:
- 2 - 3 pm : Introduction to single-cell RNA sequencing, quality control, and clustering
- 3 - 4 pm: Hands on workshop using the Tufts High Performance Compute Cluster
Prerequisites:
Participants will need a Tufts High Performance Compute (HPC) Cluster account and basic R programming experience for the hands-on analysis portion of the worksop.
-
Registrants will be automatically signed up for an HPC account. You will receive information by email on how to log on to the HPC cluster. Registration will close one week before the workshop to allow for the creation of these accounts.
-
Introductions to R/Rstudio on the HPC are available from the TTS Research Technology: https://it.tufts.edu/high-performance-computing/hpc-tutorials
Questions about the workshop can be directed to Rebecca.Batorsky@tufts.edu
Notes: Attendees should please register separately for each event and specify if they will attend online or in-person
